A note from Mid-Atlantic Prep League Commissioner, Jason Baseden:
Friends of the Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL),
Collectively we find ourselves in an unprecedented situation. Each and everyone one of our schools and athletic departments have spent the last few weeks monitoring suggestions from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and heeding the demands of our local, state and federal government. In true MAPL fashion, our schools have collaborated on our decision-making, with the health and safety of our communities as our guiding light. The Athletic Directors of each MAPL school will continue to share information and contingency plans for what is to come.
We fully understand the angst that this situation has created for our communities, especially for our spring student-athletes. The idea of possibly missing out on your entire season is not one any of us could comprehend, even as early as two weeks ago. For our senior spring student-athletes, on behalf of all the athletic departments, our hearts are with you. Just know that your impact on MAPL athletics, the camaraderie and sportsmanship has not gone unnoticed. You are truly a special group!
For now, stay fit, stay healthy, keep your distance and listen to your local officials. The MAPL will be back stronger than ever!!
Yours in Sport,
Jason Baseden
